Should I Teach During Summer Vacation?

There are many options for summer music lessons.  One option is to take a vacation from teaching for the whole summer.  Many teachers do this.  Others spend one or two weeks conducting a Music Camp for their students.  Some teachers offer lessons for a limited time (usually 8 weeks) during the summer.  Some students will find more time to practice during the summer, while others will be too busy with sports camps, summer trips, church camps, and scout camps to practice consistently during the summer.  Some students and/or teachers need a break from piano lessons.  If lessons are offered during the summer, they should be optional.
